Time to stop handling that VA with kid gloves. I had
one of those problems where THEY could not find
my files and were keeping me waiting for 2+ hours.
I threatened to go to the patient advocate and cavalierly
they said, "go ahead". Made that statement to the
wrong person. Two minutes later I was in the advocates
office. Told her my story of delay and refusal of
service because they couldn't find the records. She sent
me back to the clinic. Ten minutes later she walked
through the door carrying my file. Took the clerk
in back and just 10 minutes later I was seen. Sure
were some folks looking at me. I just smiled and went
about my business. I've been to her office a couple
of times since and she has typically been helpful although
it did take her 10 month to have a door opener installed
on the Mental Health Clinic. I could get in but just barely.
