I loved your story!!!!! The told William he had Cellulitis in 1996
when he collapsed, too, and also mentioned UTI. Interesting.
That Doctor who said he had Cellulitis was pretty sharp,
too,....except she kept him in bed for 7 days and wouldn't let him move
or set foot on the ground ......and then was surprised when he couldn't
walk the little bit that he could before she admitted him. I have heard
when you stay in bed 7 days and don't move around at all you can lose
your ability to walk. They told me that after my car wreck - to start
walking the 3rd day if I could.
But.....your story was so funny!!!!! I loved it! I think Cellulitis
must be kind of like a symptom of TM sometimes. From lack of circulation
maybe.....anyway, I'm pretty sure he actually DID have that, too.
The last two times he went to the VA have been just a riot. Friday
he went knowing he didn't have an appointment - the VA has a practice of
"changing" an appointment automatically if you are too sick to make it to
your Primary Clinic - which for him is Psychiatry.
So if you are incontinent or throwing up and can't make it in to sit
and talk over social situations with a Psychiatrist, then they figure you
are a "no show" even if you call and tell them -- and they bump all your
appointments back - for the Urologist and all the people you really need
to see!!!!!!
Okay, so Friday we went and they wouldn't see him at all in the
Urology Clinic - and then this past Weds. he was scheduled for Red PCC,
or the family clinic. I called a day ahead to confirm. The girl who
answered read off a computer listing for Lab at 7:30 a.m. and Doctor at
9:00. I got up at 3:00 a.m. so as to get over to Bill's at 5:00 a.m. -
loaded him at 6:00 a.m. - got to the VA at 7:15 and learned they forgot
to put through the paperwork for "Lab".......they called him at 9:30 in
the family clinic (GP) and I didn't hear from him again till 11:00. (
one and one half hours)....I found out after we got home that it was his
understanding that they never found his file and didn't know what to tell
him. They didn't know why he was there. He shared with them that his
ear was stopped up and they only told him to quit smoking, to reduce his
blood pressure pill to one a day, and go on home!!!!!!!
I had to share that. I was only going to send this to Gunny but
decided what the heck - I'll send it to all. Bill, by the way,
supposedly has TM and prostate cancer both.
