Dear Chris:

My neurologist told me that I had a 90% chance of having MS and said he would
like for me to start Avonex right away. I do have multiple lesions that show
on a brain MRI and my lumbar puncture was "borderline" for MS. My neuro also
told me that my symptoms were MS. My insurance approved the Avonex (I'm on an
HMO) so I felt that it must be pretty certain, even though the doctor said
90%. My doctor said I did have Transverse Myelitis at the onset of my
problems.

By the way, there has been a definate improvement in my condition since I
started on the Avonex. I still have symptoms, but they are more consistant
and milder that the attacks. I am so thankful that my neurologist is
progressive and suggested that I start on Avonex!
