SABRYNA UPDATE

Hi,
Well, life has settled down to what passes for normal around here. Our
little Bryna is feeling much better. She hasn't needed pain meds for
two days now. There is still no definitive answer or diagnosis.
Moderate scoliosis seems to be the consensus. There remains some slight
swelling around the top of her 'tail-bone', but nothing major.
Her mother received a call on Friday from a lady with the Shriners
Hospital. She was told that with a diagnosis of scoliosis she can
possibly be treated at the hospital in Tampa. They completed the
application over the phone and now we wait 4 to 6 weeks to find out if
she is 'accepted' as a patient. We all discussed it and have decided
if she is accepted it would be advisable to have her examined and
possibly tested by their doctors. Even though the crisis seems to have
passed we still don't know what caused it. All of us know and accept
the fact that there may not be an answer but you never know if you don't
ask! (<:
My sincerest thanks to all of you. You helped me keep my mind focused
on the problem by asking questions and constantly sending cheery notes.
I have to admit----the mention of the word 'myelitis' sent Grandma
into a tail-spin and it was difficult (read impossible) to concentrate
on anything except releiving her pain.
We are preparing for some nasty weather here tonight. I'm sure some
of you have already been through it, hopefully with good results.
I'm looking forward to a quiet day off tomorrow and hope to find each
and every one of you here Monday safe and happy.

learn something from it.
