Dear Sacha,

Please don't feel like you are whining. You are not. We are hear to listen to
everything you have to say as it is important to all of us to know how you are
doing and feeling!

Although I don't recall much about your history, and we didn't get to chat
long last night via IMing through AOL as it was late. I just wanted you to
know that you are still early in your recovery. Please try to look for every
little thing that is progress. For example, have you gained some muscle
strength, are some areas no longer numb, anything.

I had suggested earlier to Christi about a journal. Try to keep a journal and
log everday your progressess and setbacks. But remember it is important to
focus on the progressess. You will then see how far you have and will come.

Don't forget that with TM it is 2 steps forward somedays and 3 steps back
another. The days that you have setbacks, try to accept them as just a day to
take it easy on yourself. There are many more days to come.

Acceptance is a key role when we are afflicted with an illness that affects
our bodies. There are many changes. It sounds like you are mourning the loss
of the old you. I know I did about 4 months after my TM. I cannot say I
understand totally what it is like to be in the position of many of you whom
are more severly affected by TM than I, but I think we all go through much of
the same things, just to different degrees.

I don't think there is any "magic" time frame to walk away from TM Sacha.
There are members on the list whom after a couple years still see some
progress. You never walk away from TM, but as Alton said with a lot of
determination and hard work, you will see progress. It's not a cure all, but
it will help.

May I suggest going to Jim Lubins article at the following link. I think there
you will find some inspiration.
