Hi,
Boy, was my mail box full this morning! Thanks to all of you for your
support and suggestions.
Sabryna didn't have a very good day yesterday. She is in a lot of pain.
The swelling is back and has gone up her back almost to her left
shoulder and around her body to her abdomen. She is also having some
pretty severe headaches. Her father, Roy, works in the ER of the hoe-
pital where she was admitted. He spoke to another doctor there Sat
night and he prescribed Loritab for her for pain. It did help her
sleep.
I called the Shriners Hospital again this morning. The doctor there
said they cannot take her as a patient because it doesn't sound like an
orthopedic problem! His suggestion was to take her to Shands Teaching
Hospital at the Univ of Florida in Gainesville. My daughter is trying
to contact them now.
Sabryna has a 9:45 appt with the chiropractor but my daughter is re-
luctant to go. On Friday he told Sabryna not to take pain pills or she
would become an addict!! I recommended that she take her because he
DID provide some relief of the pain but to tell him to keep his
editorial comments to himself. She is, after all, only 8 years old.
Several of you were cocerned about not being able to contact me on
Sunday. I own and operate a tool and equipment rental store by myself,
no employees. I'm here from 7 AM till 5:30 PM Monday thru Saturday.
That's 66 hours a week! Then when I do get to go home---I have four
disabled people there, my husband, my Mom, and my husband's Aunt and
cousin. To add to all that, we have two mare of my husband's Aunts
visiting from Minnesota!!! Anyone want to trade with me?? (<: Oh my,
I forgot the dog---he's a 125 pound shepherd/huskie mix who thinks he's
a baby. So----Sunday's are usually a little crazy trying to do all the
things I can't do during the week, and especially so this week.
I told my daughter, the one who has Acute Transverse Myelitis, about
all of you and she is overjoyed to hear of a group she can join and
talk to people who REALLY understand her life and feelings.
Well, lots of work to do and more phone calls to make. I'll keep you
posted on our progress or lack thereof. God help anyone who need a
doctor on the weekend!!
