Vaccination

Barbara H,
There is a big world of viruses and bacteria out there intermingling with
the 'human' world. What needs to be kept in focus, with that as a backdrop, is
not what is THE VIRUS involved, but how susceptible was the patient. What was
the condition of the victim's immune system? Was it compromised by stress,
lack of sleep, injury, an illness, flu, by overuse of antibiotics, by
Immunization? Keep in mind that some cases of transverse myelitis have been
brought on by vaccines i.e. by immunizations! Imagine a vaccine for TM being
administered to a compromised immune system!!!
Our goals need to be in the direction of returning ourselves to adequate
health, good nutrition, both food and supplements and physical
therapy....exercise. Let us not hope for a vaccine, they are not the answer
and they are rarely 100% effective; on the otherhand we might keep an eye to
the research with primordial stem cells, which will probably be more
applicable early on to the more serious SCI patients.
This view is offered with all do respect, and in keeping with my current
understanding of the overall picture through my readings and experience as a
patient.
