nutrition because there are so many variables when it comes to testing how
the
human body reacts to anything (that's one reason we keep getting conflicting
reports about things like caffeine).
I know some people who have used it for years with no problems -- wonder if
some individuals are just more sensitive to it?

Hi Barbara,
Aspartane is about 200 times sweeter than sugar and works as a sugar
replacement for dietary purposes. It has no known adverse effects when taken in
normal quantities, but in excess may cause neurological disorders.Often
recommended for use in weight control,it is of questionable value because it
does nothing to reduce the craving for sweets.Twenty amino acids make up a
protein and more than 200 other amino acids not found in proteins, that are in
humans, and they play an important role in chemical reactions within the
cells. The arrangements of these 20 amino acids form the basic structural units
of all proteins and that's enough of that.Without a doubt, human sensitivity
varies, and some may be predestined genetically or otherwise to become
adversely effected by aspartame or even water.
My concern is with the muddying of the focus to expand beneficial research by
getting off on cloud 9 on such a miniscule risk subject such as non-proven
allegations. If I was going to scrutinize something, chlorinated drinking water
would be a priority. But,I'm not.Sorry to go on about this but I've heard the
allegations for many years, when people should be focusing on more important
things that may help us.
Barbara, you're in the know on this type stuff but some of the others may be
alarmed about this aspartame/Nutrasweet "nothingburger!"
