Having classmates think that you are so lucky to be in a wheelchair.
Praying everyday that God would heal your body so that you could walk again and go to the bathroom on your own again.
Realizing that you could have it worse and thanking God that your upper strength is great.
Not being able to play on the playground because it is not wheelchair accessible and the county will not make it wheelchair accessible because it costs too much money.
Not be able to go on certain field trips in school because it is not wheelchair friendly.
Having accidents in school and knowing that everyone knows what happened.
Having kind people donate money so that you can get a handicapped bike that you pedal with your hands so that you can be just like any other kid.
I could go on and on but this is enough. Lisa has learned that there will be good days as well as bad days. You just have to take them one day at a time.

It is like being the Tin Man, only there is no can of oil or magic when
you start to stiffen up and can't go any further. And there aren't any
fancy red shoes to click together and make it all a dream. I'd like to
wake up to a cure someday real soon.
Deborah, who's heart goes out to all of you.
