Nancy,

I hope you had a good trip. The spinal tap was not fun but that was more out
of fear and little knowledge of exactly what was going to happen. It was
uncomfortable but really was not too painful. You can get a killer headache
if you don't stay in bed (totally flat on your back) for as many hours as they
tell you which I think was 8. I was determined not to use a bed-pan so I
could barely walk by the time I could get up to go potty! That was the worst
part for me!LOL

The problem I have with the MRI is having to be still that long. I am not
clausterphobic (spelling??) I had horrible headaches after the 1st 2 so for
the 3rd I was sedated and that was awesome!

The spinal tap was done on me to rule out other diseases and to test for
certain protein levels that indicate MS. My first neurologist based my MS
diagnosis on the spinal tap and I was told by the director of the MS Society
here in San Antonio that they hardly even use them anymore. I would sure ask
if they really think it is necessary. This woman I speak of from the MS
Society was very intelligent and well-informed so I respect her opinion.

Best to and Happy New YEar!!

Annie in S TX who is still recovering from the party last night!
