I take Echinecea for the immune system, St. John's Wort, Bee Propolis and
intrinsic B12 for the nervous system and Ginko Biloba for circulation to the
extremities, which includes the brain. I've taken vitamin C on and off for
years and also Calcium with vitamin D. I'm receiving cranial osteopathy
from my naturopath (a truly gifted French Canadian) and he prescribed warm
mustard packs for my lower back and rolling a tennis ball under my feet when
I sit watching TV (this helps stimulate the nerve endings in the feet). All
of the above are helping me recover. Prior to being admitted to the
hospital, I was having aromatherapy massage on my legs and feet, receiving
Crystal Healing and Reiki, and taking Bach Flower Remedies. The
neurologists only allowed me to take vitamins while I was being given
Cortisone, but once that was completed, I resumed the herbs and therapies.
I had three massive doses of Cortisone by IV in the hospital and then took
the drug orally in diminishing doses over a five week period after leaving
the hospital. I had intensive physio-therapy from the first day I was in
hospital, continuing on for about eight weeks. I thought the therapist was
mad coming to me on the first day, even before my condition had been
diagnosed, and asking me to try to move my legs and feet! Now, I believe
that physio should be started as early as possible and the patient has to
religiously do the exercises every day even though it's very hard work.
Hope this is helpful to you and others. Light-filled Blessings, Maz.
