Hi Costas,
I am the person that was diagnosed with TM "way" back in 1959. :-) However,
I am pretty lucky, as I have never taken any drug for TM. I don't even
remember having any pain related to TM, both during the onset or the recovery.
I also recovered very quickly too. I was paralyzed from my waist down, with
no bodily functions working either. I was told that when I had my first bowel
movement on my own, I would be released from the hospital and go home. That
took weeks.......but I finally did it. Don't ask me how, because I still
couldn't feel anything to be able to tell if I had to go. I was out of the
hospital for about 4-5 weeks when I started walking by hanging onto everything
in the house for support and keeping my legs stiff (not bending my knees, once
I bent them, I'd fall on the floor) I was able to go out side and play not
too long after that. My doctor was shocked as he told my Mom I'd never walk
again. But.......since he hadn't told me that.......I had no barriers to over
come. (my feelings and beliefs) I was bound and determined to play with my
friends again and I did!
Good luck and KEEP a positive attitude along with a good sense of humor, I
highly recommend them both.
Sincerely,
Kris~
