Jo Ellen,
I was taking 4000mg of Neurontin a day until the neuro increased it to
4800mg. I ordered a 3 month supply at the increased level, but never used
it. I started having side effects that I suspected were caused by this high
dosage. One of the major side effects was drowsiness, but sometimes I also
had trouble sleeping through the night. Go figure! The neuro also prescribed
Amantadine to combat the fatigue. I weaned myself from the Neurontin and
eventually the Amantadine. At one time, the Neurontin seemed to do just what
it was supposed to do; relieve the burning in my feet, right leg and the
'band' around my body. After awhile it just didn't seem to work as well. I
have been off of it for several months without any increase in symptoms.

The Amantadine did seem to counteract the drowsiness.

Hope you find a combination that works for you.

Don from Maryland, where it's snowing on this eve of Christmas Eve.
