Shoes for foot drop

Hi,...what do those of you who have foot drop do for shoes? My rt. foot
stays swollen all the time and I can't seem to find shoes that will fit
it unless I get several sizes 2 large, and then it's harder to walk even
more than usual. I'd like to have a nice pair to wear to dressy
functions, but so far slippers were the best I could find, except now I
can't wear them out in the cold and ice.
Also, the last brace I had made was a solid molded fiberglass hinged
thing, and I couldn't even get it in an orthotic shoe unless I go up a
couple sizes. Hard to find places to sell you different sizes. Plus I
have width problems too. I go with slippers, or barefoot most the time
and my feet have widened out quite a bit. So even the wide styles are
too narrow.
I'm thinking I'll probably have to have a pair made out of a soft supple
material, maybe like suede. I imagine that will cost some $$$!
Anyone have some other ideas?

Thanks,
Jackie
