Hello, Nancy,

I have had quite a lot of GI work lately (LOL...as I am sure we are all aware).

Pain behind the breastbone (and I assume you have ruled out anything cadiac) could
very well be an ulcer. No, don't panic, I have learned that most ulcers can be
"cured" since they are caused by a bacteria called H. Pylori, which can be
eradicated with the right antibiotics.
Of course, this kind of pain could also be simple heartburn...but if you are up to
it, have it looked into just in case there is an easier solution. My chest pain
turned out to be pancreatitis, but if that is the case I would think you'd have
pain radiating into your back.

My whole GI system has been affected by TM and I experience mainly constipation,
but do also have bouts of diarrhea.
While I was at home, I found that Fibercon really helped. I would take 2 in the
am and 2 in the pm.

One thing I am going through in the hosp. right now is trying to persuade my drs.
that barium is not a good idea for me since once it goes in, I can forget about
getting it out :-) I am really kicking myself right now for letting them pump me
full of barium the other day for a repeat CT scan.

Please take care,

Mykella
