Hello,
Yes...I am still here at my local hosp. Thank you all so very much for
your encouraging and thoughtful words!!! I am truly, truly touched.

I was supposed to be transferred today; they had the ambulance set up
and ready to go, when the Uni hospital backed out. I am sure the reason
will be no surprise to any of you - insurance. My ins. went caput
November and was taken over, temporarilly by another. As of Jan 1, that
comp. will be taken over by Humana. I am a little frustrated with my
doctor, since I have been asking him since November whether I should get
new ins...he said no. Now he tells me he won't be on my plan after Jan
1st. I am fortunate enough that I have "guaranteed acceptance" because
I have a non-profit corporation...so I could have had a new and better
company by Jan 1st...but it is too late now.

Next my doctor is going to try the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial
hospital. He has told me that it is not a very "pleasant" hospital and
that they may not have the expertise needed, but at this point I have no
choice.
My pancreatic enzymes are still testing high, even though I have had
standard treatment (NPO, iv nutrition only, suction hooked up to my
stomach feeding tube, painkillers, and even a procedure to try to help
the Pancreas drain). I cannot sit around and wait for my pancreas to be
damaged further. I do hope, eventually, to be able to eat again by
mouth, and in order to do that I need a fairly healthy pancreas. They
still don't even know what is causing the acute Pancreatitis (their
theory now is TM, of course).

Anyway, if I am accepted at Miami I may be there by tomorrow night.
Whenever I am transferred, I will get little notice.

Worst case scenario , I think , I will be kept here on TPN (total
parenteral nutrition - IV nutrition) until I can get an ins. company the
hospitals will take...on Feb 1st.

Thank you all so very much again. If any of you have any insight, since
I am sure we have all been through this kind of beaurocracy, let me
know. I value each and every one of your thoughts.

Please take care everybody,

Mykella
