<< He is very depressed and feels an unbelievable responsibility to take care
of
his sister in addition to worrying about his mother. I know some of you out
there have been diagnosed with MS. Does anyone know of any web site support
groups for him. >>
Bonnie:
I don't know of an online support group for him, but I'll look around and post
the info if I find it. I do know that our local National MS Society has
support groups for the family of MSers. Maybe he could call the local MS
Society and ask. I know it must be hard for him. After my diagnosis with MS
I often talked to my daughter about what I was going through. She is 28. I
was beginning to think she didn't care because she seldom had anything to say
about it. Finally I emailed her a piece written by a woman from Sweden, who
has MS. That was the breakthrough for us because my daughter told me after
that how scared she was that I had MS. She really poured out her feelings and
it helped us both. But, I can still tell that it upsets her when I mention
problems I'm having, so I try to remember not to mention when I am having
cognitive memory problems, or my legs are getting stiffer, or my muscles are
going into spasms, or that I've been stumbling, etc... Anyway, I think it is
wonderful that you are concerned about this young man. Let me know how he's
doing, okay?
