SYSTEM CRASH

I always read the mail and once in while respond, but my system has down
for over a week. It is now up and running again.
December 12, 1971, "my" system started acting flaky and I was sent to
the "shop". The "technician" coulds not diagnose the problem, so my
mother stepped in and told the "technician" that she wanted me sent to a
larger "shop" that had more sophisticated equipment for system
dignostics.
On December 14, 1971, I was sent "high priority"(a Cadillac limo with
red lights flashing) to the larger "shop".
Not long after being wheeled into the larger "shop", I "CRASHED"!!!!!
An emergency "cutting" on my sytem was performed and I was then
connected to an external artificial respiration sytem.
On March 31, 1972, my system recovered to the point where I was able to
carry my system out of the "shop" in a vertical position using support.
My system inproved very well except for many sporadic "glitches",
especially at night, and a problem that was solved by external DEPENDent
means. In 1988, my system started to fail slowly to where I had to
attach wheels to it to move around.
In March of 1989, I found out about a new internal hard drive that could
be conected to my system to help reduce the frequent glitches. In June
of 1989, under the large conglomerate(FDA), I underwent a blind study.
On July 17, 1989, the battery powered Medtronic System was implanted
with its serial Baclofen output sent directly to my parallel spinal
connection. The results greatly reduced the nightly glitches and I was
able to stop using the wheels except for long distances. I was even able
to discard the external "DEPENDent" system. I would have an accident
once in a while if I wasn't paying attention to overlaoding the system.
My system has aged over the years and I tend to use my wheels more so
that I do not get tired as fast. I also use artificial drainage once a
day because my "recycle bin" does not fully empty when I dump it.
Somewhere near the end of January, I am going to get my third Medtronic
System.
the battery lasts 3 to 5 years and in May I will hit 5 years.
As I said, I mostly read, and this is a great place to get answers. I
have seen to over 100 doctors of different specialties in the past 27
years. I have been to some of the top in the country and some that I was
ready to tell them where to go.
Do not look at them as God. They are human beings as we are. They look
at the symptoms. There could be many diagnoses for the symptoms and each
uses his/her best judgement as for the diagnosis. That is like two
people deciding whether the color thay are seeing is purple or
violet. The best doctor anyone can find is one who does not run around
the bush if he/she does not know an answer and says, "I don't know, but
I will look to see what I can find."
This is the time of the year for giving and I believe the best gift we
all can give is big THANK YOU to Jim Lubin for this site.
