<< Hello & Welcome Mary,
I understand how scared you must be as I believe we all were. It is a scary
thing to go through not knowing what is going on with you, yet knowing that
something is very wrong.
Did you have an MRI of your spinal cord? And if you did were there any
lesions? If so where? Is your spinal cord swollen? How did your neuro come to
the conclusion that you have a viral infection of your spinal cord?
I have not been on baclofen but have been on neurontin but not for TM. I was
on it for my seizure dis-order. It did not control the seizures so I was
taken
off of it. Sorry I cannot help you with what you are looking for as far as
the
meds, but there are many on this list who can. I am sure you will hear from
many.
I am affected at C5-6 and have numbness and tingling in different areas. My
right arm, pins and needles in my legs, low back pain, loss of bladder
control
as well as not being able to feel when I have to go. These symptoms of course
were worse at the onset, and some have gotten better with time. I have loss
of
muscle strength in my arms and my hands. When my lower back is in
excruciating
pain, mylegs freeze up and I can't move until the pain subsides.
At onset I could not walk with a stable gait, although I was not paralyzed.
Also at onset I had what I thought was a terrible flu followed by a "pox"
like
rash and my skin burned from the inside out like nothing I have ever felt
before.
Please fill us in with as many details as you can, i.e. tests you have had,
all affected areas, what happened to you right before you fell ill, etc.
Hold tight and chin up. We are a wonderful group with vast amounts of
information and the best support you will find.
