Mykella...Unfortunately muscle spasms are very common in SCI which in
essence is what TM is. Having a range of motion done 2x da sometimes
helps, as do certainmedications such as baclofin and zanaflex. These
can be quite sedating if needed in the higher dosage range. If the
problem persists and the oral meds are not effective there is a
implantable pump available which delivers medication directly into the
spinal canal and does not have the sedating side effects. You might
discuss this with your neurologist or physiatrist.
