He Cheryl,
The exercise's are working with a flex band (I got from Gunny) you can
probably buy one at a sporting type store or ask Gunny. I stretch with this,
I do the treadmill (holding on) and not to fast, water aerobics help.
Stretches that you do before you may run or walk, hamstrings, quads, floor
stretches, you can buy or rent a video on yoga for beginners. Breathing
exercise, meditation. I know the burning sensation, but, if you keep
exercising, it lessons believe it or not. I do see a holistic doctor and my
neurologist once a month so he can follow up. I do not take medication. I do
take supplements and pray.
I must tell you, my nutritionist just gave me a new supplement called
neurotone, it is for the brain and nervous system it is by a company called
amni. I can actually feel a difference in my legs - a feeling of releasing
from the numbness and my knees are not as painful, I have had TM since
10/97, close to the hopefully magical 2 years. I have improved slowly but
surely. Don't give up, yes it is uncomfortable and feels like it is useless
to try sometimes, but there will be results if you are persistent. It is a
slow healing process, we cannot be impatient with this, it will do us no
good. Every day is a new day to be challenged and I have always loved a good
challenge. Guess I got one!
God Bless and take care!
