I don't know how that translates into U.S. $, but I have heard that some MS
drugs are very, very expensive. Anyone know what in the world that is so?
What
is it made out of that it would cost so much?

I am on Avonex injections once a week, for MS. Avonex is an Interferon.
Anyway, it costs $866 a month! For just 4 little injections. Thank God my
insurance picks up the entire cost. A young woman in my MS Support group is
on Avonex and doesn't have insurance (she can't get insurance because of her
diagnosis) and the company that makes Avonex (Biogen) gives her the meds for
free.
I had to laugh this week though. I always use a lotion called Lac-Hydrin for
my dry skin. I've been using it for several years and my insurance always
covered it. Now they've decided not to cover it anymore because it costs $62
a bottle. But, they'll pay for the Avonex. LOL.. I use a bottle of that
lotion once every 4 months or so. I'm going to call my insurance company on
Monday and present my case. Afterall, at one bottle every 4 months--it cost
less than my allergy medicine. lol
