Don't give up or give in. First, because
attitude is the most important factor in
your recovery. Second, because it is still
very early in your recovery process. Read
my terse summary written a few days ago.

I suspect you should still be under workers
comp. As you describe it, the ailment is
clearly a consequence of the unjury. If
need be, get a lawyer. {not my normal idea}

You may hear that "TM is caused by a virus".
Sometimes, maybe, but NOT always. In my case
the cause was a blocked artery supplying the
spinal cord at T9. {I don't know what caused
the artery to block, but it certainly was not
a virus.} Infarction TM'ers are rarities
amongst rarities, but we do exist and are
recognized in the literature.

I would guess that a herniated disc or a
vertebrae mis-alignment might have pinched an
artery (there are four at all levels and
somewhat over lapping). This is a wild guess,
not a causality supported in the literature.
But it would explain how your TM might be a
consequence of your injury.

Only a post-mortem autopsy can determine the
cause with certainty. :-)

Get that coverage or at least SS coverage; you
cannot afford this ailment out of pocket. It is
not uncommon for medications to cost $200/mo
per pill. And there are some complications that
won't show up until months later.

Get your neuro (the daughter?) to run some EMG
tests to ascertain the extent of the damage.
