I'm new ...TM and MS?

Hi,
I just discovered, and am very thankful to find, all the info available after
doing a search on TM. Three years ago I suffered an attack which began with
tingling in the toes and proceeded with numbess going up to beyond waist
level. I had the girdle feeling around the belly and the electric shock
feeling when bending the neck. Although I had difficulty walking and lifting
my legs, I was never paralyzed or disabled to the extent I am now reading
about online. I was hospitalized after the MRI showed a lesion at T-7.
During the stay at the hospital I was given IV steroids and a brain MRI, which
showed 5 spots in the brain. Also, IMG (?) levels in a spinal tap were
consistent with MS (bands and proteins were normal). The neuologist told me I
had a 80% chance of being diagnosed with MS within 2-3 yrs - (he said any
problems with my arms would prove the spots in the brain were MS). Later,
when I visited my regular Dr. he told me I had TM, probable MS. Ever since
the attack I have had what I describe as "arthritis" in my knees and some
occasional burning in my right leg. For the last two years I have had mild
burning in my arms, off and on. I have not sought any treatment as I have
been able to live with my problems, and frankly, I didn't want to deal with
it. I never really paid much attention to the TM diagnosis until recently
when a friend brought up the subject of getting on meds to slow down or keep
the MS at bay. I did the search for TM and came up with all this info .... Do
any of you have MS as well as TM? Has anyone else had a mild attack of TM?
Also, will the TM recur, and could it be more severe? Should I be on meds or
seeing a neurologist? I feel like there is much to consider and would love to
hear from anyone on this issue.
Thank you,
Beth D.
