Just wanted to let you all know that today Jake went "Snow-boarding" with just his buddies. Actually, he used one of those old fashioned sit-in sled things that we took him out last year in, with a PT and OT on hand. But today his buddies just came and got him and packed up their stuff and headed to the Mountain. He took the cam-corder along in case he didn't have alot to do. But they got him on the lift twice and he shot down the hill with great freedom!!!!! Sounds like he had a ball. The lift person gave them a hard time (probably because they were there without any adults or trained persons in disability skiing), but they stuck it out and got him up the hill and down the hill! Just like any other 15 year old would do (almost). No mom, no PT, just friends........for this I am Thankful!!!!!
Also, I may be very busy tomarrow cuz I am the one cooking the dinner, so in advance.......Thank you all very much for letting me be part of your list as a caretaker of one with TM, you have given me great insight into your world and therefore into my son's world.
