To Laura and All
Thank you Laura for giving an explanation as to why Als PT may have told
him not to work his legs too much at home. That sounds reasonable to me,
as Al is having to learn a new way to balance in order to try walking.
I hope I haven't given the wrong impression, that Al is not exercising
at all---He goes to PT 3 times a wk--where they work him very hard
(mostly legs), and he goes at least 2 more times a wk to their fitness
area and works upper body and legs again. Also practices his walking
with walker or crutches at home I had told him that I thought he
should be stretching and moving his legs any time he is
sitting--watching TV etc., and before he gets up in the morning. Being
a nurse, I thought lots of exercise would make his legs stronger
faster---However; I knew nothing about TM before Al, and it seems all is
different with TM.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
Al's mom Connie
