Hello Lillian, My recovery started in a similar manner to Larry. It's one
month under five years since my TM onset and fortunately I still get
improvements, however the bladder & bowel are still the same.

Regards, Errol in Narangba Qld Aust.

do read that 2 years later many are fully recovered but they did walk from
the beginning not good but were able to walk with a walker and without body
braces. Please help!

>Lillian, I was hemipalegic (lost the use of the entire left side, head to
toe) at the onset and in fact, my neurologist told me to "...get used to the
fact you'll be in a wheelchair from now on..."! Great words of
encouragement, huh? I told him that may be his opinion but, not mine. I
have recovered well and now 18 months later I am walking. Like it has been
said elsewhere, the harder we try and the more effort we put into our own
recovery, the more we achieve. Your grandson has to believe he can and will
recover and then work on making it a reality. It will take time and a lot
of effort so don't let him sit around waiting for someone else to make it go
away. Also, (and I'm sure some are saying finally...) as many others on
this list have stated, I believe frequent chats with the God of his choosing
will be beneficial in the recovery process.
