Hello Rick and welcome to the TMIC. Sorry you have to be here but glad
you found us. There's a lot of people here that you can call your friends.
They will answer your questions and give support and encouragement.
Now to your question and all I can do is offer my opinion. You won't find
many documented cases of tm caused by a back injury. I think an injury is part
of a chain of events. The last event in that chain being an unknown virus
leading to the onset of tm.An injury site acts as a pathway to allow the virus
to create havoc in your already immunodeficiant condition. They say "auto-
immune disorder" can be halted by suppressing the immune system. So they use
steroids for this suppression. From then on,it becomes a matter of
determination and discipline.I'll send my physical therapy recommendations to
you,but I need to know if you have lesions or any positive MRI's or x-rays.
Back injuries do have a lot of the same symptoms as ms and tm. Our thoughts
and prayers will be with you.
best regards,
Phil
