Barbara, that "fix it" idea is so true. In my family, I am the big sister.
They call me the boss. Since my brother is single, he came to me to fix his
problems....insurance, medical questions, etc. He did not want to come out of
his cacoon till he could walk. He tells me now that I don't do anything right
& I don't have any time for him. I've tried to encourage him to be in charge
of this illness so he feels some power. He won't even see a doctor. I never
argue with him. I just perform the tasks that he needs & even when I
say..."Greg do what you think is best"...he says I'm crabby. I feel like I'm
in a no win situation so I avoid seeing him. Then I feel guilty. He crabs
about me to my son when he drives him places. Ugh. Everyone says the patient
argues with the one he loves the most. It doesn't feel so good though. Luckily
I have a lot of family to support us. Greg should be moving into an apartment
by Dec. 1. I'm hoping things will get better. Right now his therapy has taken
a step backwards. (the chiropractor says he needs protein bars) so I keep my
mouth shut & get them.
Boy I do sound crabby. I am. Thanks for letting me vent. I have been wanting
to write since the topic came up a week ago. Christi
