Hello Maureen,
I just want to say..........."It's never too late!" I was also diagnosed
when I was very young, that was 39 years ago. I was younger than you were. I
also crawled around the house, to get around. But I began to realize that I
could pull myself up and stand.....then walk. All I wanted to do was go out
to play with my friends. I accomplished that, plus more. I had loving
parents who did all they could do, but it was all up to me. No one could
exercise for me, walk for me or feel my frustrations.
I may be wrong, but it seems you have a lot of anger inside. Are you sure
there isn't some unresolved hurt in your past that is still bothering you?
You have a great group here, who will listen to you and also help you. I just
want you to know that we all care. Feel free to open up to all or any one of
us.
btw.......I am new to this group. Just out of curiosity, last August '98, I
decided to look up "my" disease (I said "my" disease, because for 39 years I
thought I was the only one who had it) I am not jealous, I am overjoyed. How
happy I was, to know there were others out there I could share my experiences
with and also to know I wasn't alone anymore.
My regards,
Kris~
