Hi Everyone I'm new to the list, but after reading the emails,it
seems the support & knowledge given is great. The year prior to my dx.
was horrendous. In Sept. of '94 my daughter was dx. with optic neuritis
and was blind in one eye.She was treated with high dose IV steroids and
fully recovered. Then in April of '95 my son was dx. with paranoid
schizophrenia and was in a locked ward of a local VA hosp. for 7
weeks. He is now stable on meds.In early Aug. '95 my son-in-law left my
daughter(he worried she might become debilitated from ms-optic neuritis
is often a precursor).I received a severe scratch from one of my cats;on
Aug 13'95I got my dx.I had also done 48 hrs a week as an RN on the night
shift in a respiritory care unit(very demanding patients) to catch up on
bills because I took a lot of time off when my son became ill.Yet when I
asked my neuro doc about it he pooh-poohed the idea. The nurse
practicioner however, did think stress definitely played a part in my tm.
Now when I look back,I wonder how we all survived everything.I am so
glad I found this list-I think unless you have tm it's hard to
understand it,esp.the fatigue.Well,as you can see I do go on! Future
postings will be shorter. Best wishes to all,Cheryl M.
