Hi Larry,

Interesting question about stress. I was in a very stressful
situation. Had full-time job managing two departments and 5 months
previous to TM onset picked up a second set of full-time duties
managing three more departments. That came on top of 3 years of
lay-offs and restructuring of the organization. It's still stressful.
Hhmmmm!

I'd like to hear what others' experiences have been.

I was a 18 when I got hit with TM, I was burnig the candle at both
ends.
I was working at least 10 hours a day, seven days a week in
construction, and taking care of my livestock and trying to have a
social life at the same. You know how we were when we were young, we

thought nothing could hurt us! Well, I don't know if TM was a
result
of that type of hectic life or if it contributed to the wearing down
of
my immune system. I'v always thought it was somehow related.
Well I had better start getting ready for the day,

Hello Ken and Jane & Happy Anniversary Doc although belated. I have often
wondered if stress was a factor in contributing to the onset of TM also.
Although I did not "think" I was under stress, when I look back I have a
clearer view of my life. Or perhaps if I were listening to someone else talk
as if they were me, I would say "What a stressful life this person leads."
I too have always had back problems, fractured coccyx, and slight curvature of
the spine. Now I have been an epileptic since I was 6 weeks old and it went
undetected until I was 21. Can you say STRESS! I have been a single mother now
for over 9 years but rarely thought of it as stress, just thought of it as
life. Prior to the onset of TM, I had brain surgery to detect the exact
location of the seizures. Everyone around me was scared & stressed. But not I,
or so I thought. Then my Father died in February of this year and I got hit in
March of this year. I had been having symptoms since July of 97 though. But
now that I look at it, I think that the final blow was my Father's death. I
say this because when I got back from Florida, (step-family invlolved here
folks), I did not have a "normal" reaction to his death and all that was going
on, because I had to be the strong one, until a month later. Then wham it all
hit me and then wham I got hit with TM. I guess my point is I don't feel
stress until much later, like a delayed reaction. I don't even recognize when
I am under stress until I am totally stressed out.
So now that it is on the table and made me think, I do believe that stress is
a HUGE factor. It made me look back at the last year and even further back and
I can see the stress contribution. Even when I had my second small onset, at
the time I was very stressed out. HMMMM!
