Al keep on with your pt and it may not be long till you will have
strength enough in your legs so you can drive an automatic . My right
leg is the weakest so I have been driving with my left foot to brake for
almost 18 yrs now. I had close call a few years ago with a motor home
when a car stopped in front of me, but I made it. You can expect to
improve for about two years. I hope you have complete recovery by then.
You have had a bit of winter in Kansas I see. Texas is at it's best
right now for temps. 60's and 70's sure beat 90 to 105 which we had from
May first until Oct. first.
Keep trying to do more tomorrow than you did today. It will keep your
spirits up.
Ken

Hi to All!
I talked to Al last night--said in PT yesturday they tried walking him
without the walker--said he took a couple of steps, but had to hold on
to someones hand a little--said they want to try crutches soon.
He did get to go back to his job part-time. That has helped his boredom
a lot.
Alan hasn't changed his vehicle to hand breaks, so has to depend on
others for transportation. He hasn't wanted to do this, as he hopes he
will be able to drive before long. Does anyone have some ideas or advice
on this?
Alan also says he is starting to sleep better, but still uses some
medication most nights. The spasms and tingling feelings in his legs
start at night. Do these ever go away?
I have copied and mailed to A all of your response to date. I know he
will be so glad to read all of them. I told him to write his own letter
or letters, and I would submit them for him.
I want you to know you are helping me probably as much as him!
God blessings to all , and I will keep you all in my prayers.
Mom--Connie--
