Barbara...I picked up your query re the baclofin pump the day before I
was to have mine implanted....so waited to reply until I could give you
some first hand information.
My leg spasticity is gone already ....it had been so severe that even
on 100mgm daily of oral baclofin it took all my husband's strength to
put them thru range of motion. I still have some spasms in my abdomen
but the Dr assures me that when the flow is properly titrated these too
should be much lessened . I am sleeping better at night as am not
awakened with spasms.
The surgery took about 1 1/2 hrs and I was in hospital for 48 hrs...tho
some people are able to go home in 24. I am on a withdrawal schedule
for my oral baclofin decreasing every 2 da by 10mgm.
