Maria:-

At the moment, I am involved in a physical therapy program for
"herniated/degenerative disks." I can't say that this is a cure all for the
problem, but it is all there is available to my knowledge (other than opting
for surgery). Unfortunately, even though my therapist is going extremely slow
with me (due to Lupus), I am still experiencing more pain than when I started
the program. They are hoping to strengthen the muscles around my back, chest,
shoulders, and arms in the hope of taking the pressure off my back. Another
thing that is being emphasized is "correct" posture and chin tucks. I have
found the correct posture and chin tuck exercises most valuable in helping the
pain.

Good luck to you in your search for help. I would be interested in any info
you find that may be different from what I'm doing.
