TM and MS

My heart bleeds, of course, for the 25-30% whose MS becomes CP
(chronic-progressive), because their challenges are far greater! But for
most of us, MS really CAN be managed.

I know it's very cliche-ish, and much harder to do than to say, but if you're
worrying about your TM becoming MS, STOP! Try to think of how you can deal
with the "now" instead of worrying about the future. I'm one of the world's
biggest worry-warts, and if it's one thing I've learned in the last 3-1/2
years, it is that worrying only makes the situation worse -- *and* can
exacerbate symptoms.

Hopefully, we can all work together to advance the cause of TM through the
newly-created Transverse Myelitis Association, and to ask the medical
community to do more research on the cause, treatment and cure of TM -- just
as doctors have done with MS.

If anyone wants to talk to me about what it's like to live with RR-MS, I'd be
happy to hear from you privately. For now, let me just say that it's not
nearly as scary as some might think.

Love and cheers,

Julie P.
