I'd like to pose a question to the group....How do you handle
professional/work related conferences that involve travel, long walks to
meeting sites etc. when much of the "real" benefits are gleaned from
time spent interacting with others in your field. It's hard to walk
with a group of people who are carrying on a discussion when you can't
keep up. Yes, I have managed to deal with all this but I'm wondering if
you have any suggestions or "tricks" that have worked for YOU? When you
meet someone for the first time do you ever share a brief explanation
concerning your limitations? What happens next?
