1st, Congratulations to Sandy and Deanne for getting the Transverse Myelitis
Association Newsletter off the ground. Thank you for taking the time and
effort to help those of us who have been afflicted with this disease.
A change of insurance coverage and a change of neurologists will occur
tomorrow. The school that I work for changed insurance companies and my
current neurologist is no longer a "preferred provider", which would mean all
of his bills would be considered "out of network" and payable at a higher
rate then the "preferred providers". After much discussion with my wife (and
a tremendous fear of the possible not covered insurance costs), I have
switched to a new neurologist on the "list". I did research on the doctor and
met him before I finalized my decision. I have my fingers crossed that he
will be able to help me now and in the future.
My MS symptoms continue to become more pronounced. I have been suffering a
variety of problems but having difficulty with equilibrium on a more frequent
basis. Recently was so bad at work that I had to ask the teacher next to my
room to watch my class for a few minutes as I go lie on the equipment room
floor. I couldn't keep my head up. I am usually very nauseous when this
occurs.
Does this happen to anyone else? I know my story is different (diagnosed 34
years ago) but I am wondering if this is similar to anyone else experiences.
Because I was so young when I became paralyzed, I do not remember any of the
initial symptoms.
Does anyone suffer from nauseous and equilibrium problems?
Thanks for your help!
