Starting the new year off right, I have done some "research". The
compound under investigation is 4-ap (4-aminopyridine). Purdue University
is "involved" with this compound although I do not know what stage or
directioin their research is/has taken.

My information was obtained from the home page for the Canadian Spinal
Research Organization. Using "infoseek" as a search engine I typed in
"spinal research organization" and the first on the list was the above. A
few moves and you can read about the trials with 4-ap. There is no mention
that there is currently a clinical trial with an oral form of this compound
but it IS ongoing. The information about the initial trial (IV dosage) is
interesting but does not define "complete injury". My suspicion is that
they are not using the "strict" defintion of complete lesion referring to
complete lack of bladder or bowel control, but rather a less strict one.
Interesting reading in any case.
