Well in my case I was on a respirator for over 1 1/2 months and could
not have an mri till after i could breathe without the respirator. I was
diagnosed with TM without an mri being done and when i finally did have an
MRI there was no lesion to be seen on the pictures. But my diagnosis was
given 3-4 days after i entered the hospital, so i don't know if an MRI is
the only means of diagnosng TM, but i'm still learning...
