thanks Beth for your encouraging words about the usefulness of this
latest round of discussion. some people obviously share different views
;-(

A cleam MRI but a diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis? Is that possible
--I know that MRIs are a VERY sophisticated test and can show the tiniest
of lesions --if there is a presumed lesion in the cord --defintion --out of
Stedman's Medical Dictionary -"inflamation involving the entire thickness
of the spinal cord, but of limited longitudinal extent" , then one wonders
how you could have a clean MRI and and be given a diagnosis of TM? With
lupus --atypical or not --there are a WIDE variety of symptoms of a
neurological nature --I know -my mother who had lupus had 99% of them!!!.
Sounds too like your treatment is geared towards Lupus. Rash is almost
pathopneumonic of lupus --TM --here and there and probably more related to
the viral illness causing the problem rather than the disease process
itself.

In all fairness, your presentation, as you described it some time ago
did almost fit with TM.

Isn't this a problem we are all struggling with -- what is the CORRECT
dignosis --these days that is very important since it determines treatment.
Ovbiously a lot of neurological disorders (or disorders with neurological
symptoms) overlap and "picking" the right diagnosis (an sometimes cause) is
not easy. Im my case --because I had travelled to a foreign country it was
important to rule out brucellosis --quite treatable with antibitoics --alas
I am left with "unknown nad unlucky virus number 469832457" --keep going to
physio, keep your spirits up and imagine yourself as you were before the
"injury" -- and if you have time visiti the local Reiki master!!

Food for thought?
