Hello and welcome~
I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's situation. I have heard of TM relapses (one
of my greatests fears!), but they are not common. The drs. will probably be
checking for MS -- a second attack may be an indicator of that. Recovery is as
unpredictable as it was the first time around. I'll be hoping and praying for
the best!!! The questions you listed are good ones for the dr. Unfortunately,
he may not have any answers -- one of the hard things about this illness is
the all the "unknowns". But he may be able to tell you something.You might
also ask about Avonex or some of the other drugs used for MS (whether they
diagnose MS or not) which may help prevent recurrences.
