I am writing because I recently recieved a letter announcing a nomination for
our group. I am not certain what the qualifications are, nor if I am able to
nominate someone, but I am going to put in my two cents any how.
I would like to nominate Gunny. I know that there are many wonderful,
helpful, and encouraging individuals in our group, but I say this with the
heart felt consideration I believe he deserves.
I remember some time ago when I was desperately searching for answers, help,
and someone to understand what I was going through. I found this wonderful
group of compassionate and understanding people who did understand me, and
offered there unconditionally support.
I praise the individual who started this group, and gave us a basis in which
we could communicate and learn.
On a different level though, Gunny has been there for me, and I am certain
from all the letters I have read 100's of others. He was the first one to
welcome me to this group, and offered so many insights to what this disease
was, and who we could contact, and what we could do to help ourselves.
He has been there through every emotional turmoil, he has sent me things
without charge to strengthen my muscles, offered a listening ear, and made me
mad enough to know that without his persistance I would not have continued.
It is important to every person in this group to recognize and give
appreciation to an individual who can give so much of there self, and the only
compensation he does expect, is that you never give up, and keep believing in
your self. His only reward is helping others to get through this, keep
strong, and keep smiling.
I do not know this man other than communicatiing through this group. He has
taken on this task, I am sure at first to help himself, and learn all he could
about TM, what he did not have to do, was be a guardian angel to most, and an
encyclopedia of information to others.
I hope others feel as I do, and give some recognition where it is do.
