Hello Debra, Errol from Australia at this end. I hit the TM jackpot in
late December 1993, in hospital until 27 May 1994. When I realized that I
could walk in a heated hydro pool, I asked the physio about trying to stand
and walk in parallel bars, that was four months down the recovery track. I
attended a day physio rehab hospital three days per week for the next seven
months, still being mainly wheelchair dependant when I discharged from
being an inpatient, I gradually started to rebuild my standing and walking
firstly with Canadian crutches and then two walking canes. Today I still
use two walking canes outside and one inside, still wear an AFO type leg
brace on my right leg to stop my hyperextension of my right ankle and help
keep my right knee from flicking hard back and causing damage. First I
reckon I was very lucky to be able to walk again and secondly I am still
improving little by little. I always try to keep a very determined and
positive attitude, never lose sight of the big picture and never give up
hope of getting better and better. As others will say, you will get a
massive amount of encouragement from this wonderful group of people, I have
only been on the list for a couple of months now, so I am new on the block
so to say. We will all be praying and batting for your improvement. Go
for it Debra, there is no time limit. I think we will be with you all the
way if you wish.

Kind regards from Errol in Sunny and Windy Narangba, Queensland, Australia.
