WASHINGTON, D.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 1998--

by Tony Coelho, chairman, President's Committee

on Employment of People With Disabilities

Businesses looking for qualified job applicants with disabilities now
have an extra recruiting tool thanks to the "Job Links" page on the Web site
of the President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.

This initiative comes at an appropriate time as America celebrates
October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The Job Links page
helps connect American businesses with the most underutilized, yet highly
skilled and talented, labor pool in this country -- the 54 million Americans
with disabilities.

Businesses that post their jobs on their own Web site may request to be
linked to the President's Committee's Job Links Web page. By a simple click of
a mouse, interested candidates can review job openings within the company.

Since its launch last April, over 60 companies, including IBM and Procter
& Gamble, have utilized the recruiting assistance of Job Links. Businesses
have found the service to be an avenue to find highly motivated job candidates
with disabilities.

Candidates and businesses can access Job Links at
http://www.pcepd.gov/joblinks.htm. For more information, interested employers
may contact Dina Dorich at ddorich(AT)pcepd.gov.

In addition to Job Links, the President's Committee operates the Job
Accommodations Network (JAN), a toll-free service (800/ADA-WORK) providing
information on workplace accommodations and employability of people with
disabilities.
