Well put, Phil. I agree. Some doctors are more caring and/or communicative
than others, but they pretty much have to carry out standard treatment until
researchers come up with a better idea. And probably many of them are so busy
with the practices they have, as well as their own families and personal
lives, that they probably aren't able to keep up with all of the cutting-edge
research. That's one reason I think it is best to be a well-informed patient
and bring some of these ideas to the dr. sometimes. I don't basically distrust
doctors, but I don't sit back and never say or ask anything and take
everything said as gospel truth, either (like I used to).
