Barb D. is right - the drug is a very powerful anti-seizure drug. It
also blocks some of the nerve signals to the brain, which is why it can
help with pain and tingling for people with spinal injury or disease.
The reason why you should taper off of it gradually is that there is a
concern that stopping suddenly may actually cause a seizure - even if
you do not have a seizure disorder. Nothing is simple is it? Ann
