Well, besides all the other fun action in my life... I have been fighting
the
City of Los Angeles on a parking ticket that I received some time ago parked
outside of Cedars Sinai Hospital while receiving treatment....

Hi Janie,
First off,I am on your side and understand your frustrations. I know of many
hospitals that let patients park free of charge in the parking garages. They
have a cental parking desk to validate your parking when it is signed by the
doctor or hospital representative.Check this out. The co-ordination of city
of L.A. street department and patients hospital hours has room for
improvement. However, they want to clean streets. It's probably good they aren't
towing and just issueing violations. If the hospital is not on the parking
validating program, your concerns should be brought to their attention. Like
you said,it would benefit any physically challenged person to have necessary
access. On street parking and garage parking are both unhandy for a wheelchair
user but usually are an equal amount of distance and difficulty.I wouldn't dig
myself in any deeper with the violation thing until I did some checking. You
are in pain, mobility impaired etc. and it's easy for paranoia to set in.I
don't have any of the rubber soled boots, lol But try to talk to the
hospital about the validating of parking and handicapped parking etc. I'm just
looking at the broader spectrum and absolutely not trying to be a devil's
advocate.
best regards,
Phil
