I was told many years ago by my dermatologist that
fungus feeds on steroid so that any steroid treatment
is just continuing your problem. I, too, had the fungal
infections for years as I had to take steroids for a skin
problem. The last medication I took for fungal problem
seemed to stop it. I think it was Diflucan 200mg given
orally that finally did the trick. It's expensive, but worth
it.
Now for your second statement. I have found that with
every improvement comes more sensitivity and pain
in the area of improvement. I would assume that the
treatment of SoluMedrol has brought about some improve-
ment in your original areas struck by tm. I personally feel
that the pain is worth it if I am regaining my facilities. I am
now trying to make myself more comfortable by taking
Neurontin for the pain. It helps some.
I hope this info helps with your questions. JanH
