Hi All ~
Since TM seven months ago I have not been able to go shopping by myself.
I can now walk to my car with my cane for balance and I can drive.
However, once I get to the parking lot at the store, I need someone to
go into the store and bring the electric wheelchair they furnish out to
the car. At Super K-Mart here you have to go to the middle of the store
to customer service and get the key to operate the wheelchair.
Yesterday I lucked out !! While I was wheeling around the store two men
in white shirts and ties came up and asked me if I needed help finding
anything. I asked, "Are you the manager of this store?" He said, "Yes"
and I explained my dilemna. Told him they need to put these chairs at
each entrance WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION!!
One of the men is the district manager and made a note to notify his
other stores.... and the manager of this store gave me his business card
and told me to call him when I was coming there to shop and he would
have someone meet me at MY CAR with the wheelchair!!! VOILA!!!
I can now go shopping ALONE!!!!!
Now I have to start working on JC Penney, Sears, etc., etc., etc.!!!
